Germany expects warm weekend weather amid fatal Swiss bus accident

Germany is expected to experience a period of unseasonably warm weather, known as Altweibersommer, between September 11 and 13, 2026. Temperatures are forecast to reach up to 27 or 28 degrees Celsius, particularly in the south and southwest. While the north may face cloudier skies and occasional rain, the southern regions are expected to see more sunshine and higher temperatures.

In a separate incident, a Dutch tour bus accident in Graubünden, Switzerland, has resulted in five fatalities and 40 injuries. According to local police, three people were seriously injured, seven moderately, and 30 sustained minor injuries.
