Central Europe weather transition brings cooler temperatures and storms

Central Europe is experiencing a significant seasonal transition as cold fronts bring cooler temperatures and unsettled weather across Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

In Germany, the Deutsche Wetterdienst reports a drop in temperatures and increased cloudiness, with potential frost in higher elevations and fog in valleys. While some regions like Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate may see sunny intervals, others face wind and scattered showers.

Hungary is facing weather warnings in several counties due to potential thunderstorms, lightning, and hail. Meteorologists note a transition toward cooler mornings, with temperatures fluctuating between 16 and 24 degrees Celsius during the day.

Slovakia is currently under a cold wave, though a period of warmer, stable weather is expected to follow. Meanwhile, the Czech Republic is seeing a sharp decline in daytime temperatures, dropping from summer-like warmth to much cooler autumn conditions within 24 hours.

On a broader scale, a heat dome is expected to impact parts of Europe, including the Iberian Peninsula, where temperatures could reach 40 degrees Celsius, contrasting with the cooling trends in Central Europe.
