Germany wins U18 Men's Handball European Championship

The German U18 men's national handball team has won the European Championship in Belgrade, defeating Slovenia with a score of 36:27 in the final. This victory follows a difficult tournament path for the squad led by coach Erik Wudtke, who had previously lost to Slovenia in the main round and narrowly qualified for the quarterfinals.

Germany dominated the final, leading 17:11 at halftime. Goalkeeper Tobias Dengler played a decisive role, contributing ten saves during the match. Three German players—Tjorven Knackstedt, Julius Eisend, and Malte Elze—were named to the tournament's All-Star Team.

Notable participants included Elvis Kretzschmar, son of handball legend Stefan Kretzschmar, and Kalle Gaugisch, son of women's national team coach Markus Gaugisch. The win continues a successful period for the German Handball Federation (DHB) youth programs, following recent successes in other age categories.
