Tesla ramps up Grünheide hiring and production capacity

Tesla announced that the first 1,000 employees for the initial production ramp‑up at its Grünheide factory near Berlin have been hired. This permits increasing weekly output from 5,000 to 6,200 vehicles. A second hiring wave of 1,000 workers will begin in September to support a further rise to 7,500 vehicles per week from October.

The company plans a total of 3,500 new jobs at the site, including 1,500 positions for a planned battery‑cell production line, and will invest roughly 250 million USD (about 220 million EUR). The plant already employs around 11,000 staff and supplies more than 30 markets. In the first half of 2026, registrations of Tesla cars in Germany jumped 224.6 %.
