A basic kit includes solar modules, a mounting frame, a micro‑inverter and cabling; installation does not require a certified electrician if the inverter power stays below 800 W. Registration is required for systems up to 2 kW in the market master data register, and a VAT exemption applies as a federal incentive.

During hot summer days the modules can overheat, reducing output by about 0.35‑0.5 % per degree above 25 °C. At 35 °C ambient temperature, module temperatures may reach 65 °C, cutting power by roughly 14 % and costing users an extra €5‑€10 per month. Simple mounting adjustments—adding ventilation gaps, keeping distance from walls or railings, and using modules with lighter‑colored backsides—help keep temperatures lower and preserve energy yields.
