Germany's Bundeswehr uses kebab packaging for recruitment

The German military, known as the Bundeswehr, has launched an unconventional recruitment campaign using kebab packaging to attract new personnel. As part of an ‘ambient marketing’ strategy, the military is providing free camouflage-patterned food containers to kebab shops across Germany. These containers feature the slogan ‘A career with everything on it’ and include a QR code that directs potential applicants to recruitment information specifically for the medical corps.

This initiative aims to reach a diverse demographic, including young people exploring career paths, experienced professionals, and those seeking career changes. The strategy integrates military messaging into the daily routines of the public to increase visibility. This recruitment drive is driven by Germany's goal to reach a strength of more than 260,000 military personnel by 2035 to meet NATO requirements.
