Vehicle Attack at Berlin Pride Leaves One Dead, Dozens Injured

On the night of 25 July 2026, a white vehicle plowed into the crowd gathered for the Christopher Street Day (CSD) Pride march in Berlin’s Tiergarten park near the Brandenburg Gate. Police said the driver fled on foot and a city‑wide manhunt for suspects was launched. The incident forced the immediate cancellation of the parade, which had attracted hundreds of thousands of participants.

Authorities confirmed at least one fatality and 14‑15 people with injuries ranging from minor to life‑threatening. More than 40 emergency personnel, including fire‑fighters and ambulances, were deployed, and a large police presence secured the area. Police spokesperson Florian Nath told media, “We are searching intensively for suspect persons.” Berlin’s mayor Kai Wegner called the event “an attack on our free and open society.” The investigation into the motive and the driver remains ongoing.
