Germany's Hensoldt opens 300 million‑euro defense campus
Hensoldt inaugurated a €300 million defence campus in Oberkochen, Germany. The site consolidates development, assembly and integration of advanced optronic and radar systems and employs about 900 staff. Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius attended the opening and highlighted the project’s role in strengthening the Bundeswehr and NATO capabilities, showcasing technologies such as the TRML‑4D radar and the MDOcore battle‑truck sensor‑fusion suite.
Analysts note that while European defence spending is rising, Hensoldt must translate its expanding order book into revenue, margin and free cash flow. The company faces pressure to deliver financial results that match the operational growth demonstrated by the new campus.
