Germany's migration summit urges depoliticised debate and faster labour integration

She praised the cabinet’s decision to improve municipal funding and to accelerate the integration of refugees into the labour market, calling it a "right step" for both society and the country’s skills shortage. Piel warned against inflammatory rhetoric that blames refugees for longer medical waiting times or housing shortages, stating such accusations only fuel hatred and division. She urged concrete, pragmatic solutions and emphasized that successful integration must lead to well‑paid, tariff‑bound jobs rather than low‑wage dumping.

The summit’s outcomes focus on stronger financial support for municipalities and policies aimed at closing Germany’s skilled‑worker gap through better integration of asylum seekers.
