Germany's most wanted drug trafficker arrested in Malaga

Spanish National Police, in collaboration with Germany's Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), have arrested a man in Malaga identified as Germany's most wanted drug trafficker. The suspect had been a fugitive for five years and was subject to a European Arrest Warrant for drug trafficking and membership in a criminal organization.

The investigation, which began in 2025, revealed that the suspect's criminal network operated a warehouse in Spain to load narcotics onto trucks, which were then transported to Germany via France. To evade capture, the suspect employed extreme security measures, including changing his phone number every two weeks and his identity every three months. Additionally, he had completed cybersecurity training in Turkey to prevent digital tracking via operating systems and social media.

The arrest occurred on August 24, after authorities located the suspect's brother. Following surveillance across several Spanish provinces, police intercepted the brother's vehicle in Malaga, where the suspect was found traveling as a passenger. He has since been remanded in custody.
