Germany's rail network halted nationwide after technical failure

All train services across Germany were stopped following a major malfunction in the train‑radio system. The disruption lasted roughly two hours, leaving thousands of passengers stranded until service resumed just after 00:30.

North Rhine‑Westphalia transport minister Oliver Krischer condemned the incident, calling it a "new low" for railway reliability and demanding a full, transparent investigation and stronger emergency procedures to prevent similar outages.
