Germany's swing dance scene grows with new West Coast Swing classes in Unterhaching and a Berlin swing show

The ADTV‑registered Tanzhaus emotion in Unterhaching, a suburb of Munich, has launched regular West Coast Swing courses for beginners and advanced dancers. The programme emphasizes improvisation, musicality and a flexible schedule that lets participants join any class week to week.

In Berlin, the Varieté Wintergarten is hosting the "NIGHT OUT @ BERLIN" swing show, featuring 25‑year‑old David Hermlin and his Swing Dance Orchestra. The performance blends classic swing music with original arrangements, dance, tap and acrobatic numbers, aiming to highlight swing’s historic role as an inclusive cultural movement.

Both events illustrate a renewed interest in swing‑style dancing across Germany, offering opportunities for public participation and celebrating the genre’s American roots.
