Germany’s top lakes and Bavaria’s water playgrounds spotlight family outings

A German holiday portal ranked the country’s bathing lakes using Google reviews of sites with at least 50 ratings. The top ten spots are dominated by Bavaria (six lakes) and Mecklenburg‑Vorpommern (three lakes), with a single lake from Saxony. Großer Pälitzsee in the Mecklenburg Lake District leads the list with 4.9 stars from 98 reviews, followed closely by the Schmale Luzin (4.9 stars, 83 reviews). Other highly‑rated lakes include the alpine Eibsee, Königssee, Walchensee, Hopfensee, Sylvensteinsee and Schweriner See. Median overnight prices in the main season range from €115 to €202 depending on the lake region.

A separate guide lists ten water‑playground locations in the Augsburg district where grandparents and grandchildren can combine play and cooling off.
