Germany's top outdoor destinations for summer 2026 ranked and European national parks highlighted

The British outdoor clothing brand Regatta analysed Google search data for 67 German outdoor regions and produced a ranking for summer 2026. The Baltic Sea coast topped the list, followed by the North Sea, the Harz mountains, Lake Constance, the Schorfheide biosphere reserve, Zugspitze, Allgäu, the Black Forest, the Middle Rhine Valley and the Eifel volcanic region.

A separate feature presented ten European national parks worth visiting, including Croatia’s Plitvice Lakes, Portugal’s Peneda‑Gerês, Finland’s Linnansaari, Germany’s Saxon Switzerland, Austria’s Kalkalpen, Italy’s Cinque Terre and others. The pieces together showcase the most sought‑after natural areas for outdoor recreation across Germany and the wider continent.
