The Wacken Open Air festival will run from 29 July to 1 August 2026 in the village of Wacken, Schleswig‑Holstein. Organisers expect roughly 85,000 metal fans from more than 80 nations, with tickets selling out rapidly after the pre‑sale opened. The 2026 line‑up features over 150 bands on eight stages, including headliners such as Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Powerwolf, Sabaton, In Flames, Arch Enemy, Lamb of God and many others.

Helmfest 2026 is scheduled for 30 July to 1 August at the former substation site between Helmstedt and Büddenstedt in Lower Saxony. The three‑day event anticipates about 1,000 attendees and will showcase 26 metal bands. Tickets range from €45 for a single day to €77.50 for a three‑day pass, with camping included in the price. The festival provides on‑site facilities such as food stalls, water sales, and designated safety and awareness teams.

Both festivals represent Germany’s largest recurring gatherings for the heavy‑metal community, offering extensive line‑ups, international visitors and a range of services for fans.
