Germencik Municipality in Aydın Shifts Work Hours to 6 am‑2 pm Amid 45°C Heat

Facing daytime temperatures that reached 45 °C, municipalities in Turkey’s Aydın province have altered work schedules to protect staff health. Germencik’s mayor, Burak Zencirci, visited field personnel and announced that municipal employees will now work from 06:00 to 14:00, reducing exposure to extreme heat.

The change aims to safeguard workers while maintaining uninterrupted municipal services. Staff welcomed the adjustment, describing it as a significant improvement for their safety and well‑being.
