Germencik Municipality names playground after local woman

The Germencik Municipality in Aydın has renovated a children's playground and named it ‘Gülben’in Oyun Adası’ (Gülben’s Play Island) to honor the memory of Gülben Kayakuş.

Kayakuş, the daughter of local resident Ahmet Kayakuş and municipal employee Hatice Kayakuş, passed away at the age of 27 while undergoing cancer treatment. The playground, located in the Family Tea Garden, was updated to serve as a living memorial where her family and loved ones can remember her through the joy of playing children.

Germencik Mayor Burak Zencirci met with the family to commemorate Kayakuş, stating that preserving her beautiful memory through the happiness and hope of children holds great meaning for the community.
