Germencik, Turkey Hosts 7th Traditional Bullfighting Festival

Aydın province’s Germencik district held its 7th Traditional Bullfighting Festival at the Alangüllü Mahallesi arena, featuring 65 pairs of pehlivan bulls brought from various Aegean region provinces. The event, organized by the Germencik municipality, attracted a large crowd of locals who watched the bouts from early morning, many enjoying picnics alongside the matches.

Mayor Burak Zencirci attended, meeting citizens, distributing hats and praising the Yörük tradition of bullfighting. He thanked Governor Osman Varol and the festival’s organizing committee for their support and invited participants to a upcoming camel‑wrestling event scheduled for the second week of January. At the close of the day, owners of the winning bulls received cups as trophies.
