Germignaga residents demand action on dangerous traffic and illegal parking on Via Cadorna

Residents of Via Cadorna in the historic centre of Germignaga have raised a fresh alarm over traffic conditions they describe as "out of control". Cars and motorcycles travel at high speed, illegal parking blocks sidewalks and private entrances, and confrontations with drivers are common. The neighbourhood compares the situation to a previous incident on Via San Carlo that led to a limited‑traffic zone after a stroller accident.

Vice‑mayor Matteo Testarico acknowledged that the problem predates the current administration of Mayor Marco Fazio. He noted that the municipality introduced paid parking, installed pallets, added motorcycle stalls, removed some illegal spaces and redesigned the sidewalk in front of a local shop. While the measures have improved the situation, residents say the problem remains "unlivable" and a meeting with the mayor and the local police commander was recently held to discuss further solutions.
