Gernsheim Handball Tournament Showcases Local Teams and Community Spirit

The Gernsheim SC sports ground hosted the Fischerfest handball tournament on a sunny day with temperatures around 30 °C. HSG Riedstadt III dominated the men's competition, winning all six matches to claim first place. TV Lampertheim finished second, while TV Meppen, travelling the farthest from the Emsland region, secured third place.

Other participating clubs included MSG Lorsch/Einhausen, TV Groß‑Rohrheim II, TV Schriesheim and the host Gernsheim SC. A women's friendly match was arranged between FSG Biblis/Gernsheim and SV Erbach, with Erbach edging a close victory. Mayor Peter Burger and Fischerfest director Alexander Schmidt attended, donating a 50‑liter keg of beer and two crates of the festival brew. The event also featured a Meter‑Beer‑Cup, with TV Groß‑Rohrheim winning the strong 50‑meter result, and honored long‑serving club members for ten and twenty years of dedication.
