Gerresheimer AG reports slight Q1 2026 revenue growth

Gerresheimer AG has released preliminary financial results for the first quarter of 2026, reporting a slight revenue increase to EUR 524 million, up from EUR 519 million in the same period last year. However, the company saw a decline in adjusted EBITDA, which fell to EUR 66 million from EUR 81 million in Q1 2025, resulting in an adjusted EBITDA margin of 12.6 percent compared to 15.7 percent previously.

The company attributed the lower earnings to a strict focus on free cash flow, which included optimizing inventory and reducing production volumes. Despite the earnings dip, the company reported an improvement in free cash flow compared to the previous year's first quarter.

Gerresheimer is currently in the process of selling its Centor and Primary Packaging Plastics business units to funds advised by Apax Partners. The proceeds from these sales are intended to strengthen the balance sheet and support sustainable debt reduction. The company expects a stronger second half of 2026 with improved earnings, driven by its core divisions in drug delivery devices, medical products, and injection systems.

The release of these figures follows the completion of internal investigations regarding revenue and accounting practices for the 2024 and 2025 financial years.
