Gers communes issue tap water advisory following river pollution

Residents in the communes of Condom and Cassaigne in the Gers department of France have been issued a strict advisory against drinking tap water. The alert, issued by water distributor Véolia in coordination with the Agence Régionale de Santé (ARS), follows the discovery of dead fish in the Baïse river.

Under the sanitary measures, tap water must not be used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or preparing food and infant formula. While the water remains safe for adult and child showers, cleaning, and sanitation, bottled water is being distributed at local town halls and technical services to assist residents while analysis is conducted.
