Gerson Claro highlights tax policy and regional demands in Mato Grosso do Sul

Gerson Claro, President of the Legislative Assembly of Mato Grosso do Sul and candidate for reelection, has highlighted the legislature's role in maintaining the state's ICMS tax rate at 17%. He noted that while other Brazilian states increased their rates, Mato Grosso do Sul managed to keep its modal rate among the lowest in the country, despite reduced revenues from Bolivian natural gas imports.

Claro also emphasized the Assembly's involvement in environmental guidelines, specifically regarding the Pantanal Law and the state's goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. Additionally, Claro conducted an institutional visit to Sidrolândia to meet with local leaders, including the mayor, indigenous representatives, and rural producers. During this visit, he addressed various local demands, such as the creation of a new civil court, infrastructure improvements for the MS-455 highway, and the allocation of R$ 700,000 in amendments to support the APAE organization with the purchase of an accessible bus.
