Gestair Maintenance awarded Spanish state aircraft contract

The Spanish Air and Space Force has formalized a contract with Gestair Maintenance to maintain its fleet of state aircraft. The framework agreement is valued at a maximum of 118.6 million euros for an initial period of four years, with the possibility of extending to a fifth.

The contract covers ten aircraft: five Falcon 900s used for authority transport, two Airbus A310s for strategic transport, and three Cessna Citation Vs used for aerial photography, radio aid calibration, and medical evacuations. These aircraft operate from the Torrejón de Ardoz and Getafe bases in Madrid.

Gestair was the sole remaining candidate in the bidding process after two other companies, European Aviation Competence Center GmbH and Hispano-Lusitana de Aviación, were excluded. Under this agreement, Gestair has been awarded Lot 1 (the Falcon 900 and Airbus A310 aircraft) for 73.5 million euros and Lot 2 (the Cessna Citation Vs) for 7 million euros.
