Gesterby school centre opens new parking area in Kirkkonummi

A new parking area at the Gesterby school centre in Wigge has been completed and opened for use as of Monday, August 10, 2026. The entrance to the new facility is located at Vilhelmsbergsvägen 4 (Vilhonkummuntie 4).

To facilitate student drop-offs and pick-ups, specific spaces have been reserved along the edges of the new parking area. These spots are marked with no-parking signs and are restricted to short stops of a maximum of 15 minutes. Additionally, a smaller parking area near the former Papinmäen koulu is reserved exclusively for school transport, including minibuses.

The existing parking area at Gesterbynkaari remains in operation, and authorities recommend using both the new area and the Gesterbynkaari site, along with the turnaround point near the spruce hedge, to avoid congestion. Mopeds and moped cars continue to use a separate designated area at Gesterbynkaari. Signage for the parking areas is expected to be clarified during the autumn.
