Getafe CF explores potential signing of Sergio Ramos
Getafe CF president Ángel Torres has confirmed that the club is in contact with René Ramos, the brother and representative of Sergio Ramos, regarding a potential transfer. While the 40-year-old defender is considered a “futurible” for the club, Torres noted that signing Ramos is not currently a priority because the squad already has six central defenders. The club’s immediate focus, as directed by manager José Bordalás, is on strengthening wing positions.
Torres indicated that the possibility of a deal could be revisited during the January transfer window, potentially contingent on the departure of an existing central defender. A move for Ramos would reunite him with former Real Madrid teammate Dani Carvajal, who recently joined Getafe on a free transfer. Ramos has been without a club since leaving the Mexican side Monterrey at the end of 2025.
Separately, Getafe manager José Bordalás has expressed concern over the team’s disciplinary record, noting a high number of red and yellow cards accumulated early in the La Liga season. Following a 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano, Bordalás emphasized the need for immediate correction to avoid playing matches in numerical inferiority.
