Dani Carvajal joins Getafe CF on free transfer

Getafe CF has officially announced the signing of Spanish international defender Dani Carvajal on a free transfer. The 34-year-old right-back, who most recently played for Real Madrid, has signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2027.

Carvajal joins the club following a highly decorated career, including 27 major trophies with Real Madrid and six UEFA Champions League titles. The move follows a period of uncertainty regarding his registration with LaLiga due to financial fair play regulations. Getafe president Ángel Torres reportedly provided a personal financial guarantee to ensure the player could be registered within the club's salary limits.

Under the management of José Bordalás, Carvajal is expected to provide leadership and experience to the squad as they compete in LaLiga and the UEFA Conference League. Reports indicate a significant reduction in his previous earnings, with his new salary estimated at approximately one million euros per season, a substantial decrease from his previous compensation at Real Madrid.
