Getafe player Davinchi demands resignation of Minister Óscar Puente

Getafe footballer Davinchi has publicly called for the resignation of Spanish Transport Minister Óscar Puente, labeling him an ‘assassin’ following the death of his father in a rail tragedy.

Davinchi’s father, former footballer David Cordón, was among the 46 people killed in the Adamuz train derailment in Córdoba on January 18, 2026. The accident resulted in over 100 injuries and remains one of the most significant recent railway disasters in Spain.

The player expressed deep frustration on social media, stating that financial compensation is insufficient and that the victims' families are seeking real political and judicial accountability. Davinchi cited ‘numerous errors’ in the management of railway infrastructure as the cause of the disaster and demanded immediate political consequences.
