Getafe signs Georgian defender Saba Sazonov

Getafe CF announced the signing of 24‑year‑old Georgian international centre‑back Saba Sazonov on a contract running to 30 June 2027. The defender joins the La Liga side under coach José Bordalás to strengthen a back line that will compete in both the domestic league and the upcoming Conference League qualifying rounds.

Sazonov arrives after his contract with Torino FC expired. He began his career in the youth ranks of Zenit St Petersburg, won the Russian league with Dynamo Moscow, and spent the 2023‑24 season on loan at Empoli in Serie A before suffering a serious ACL injury that kept him out for a season. The Getafe statement highlighted his youth, physicality and potential as a significant boost for the squad.
