Getty Images reports Q2 2026 revenue decline and net loss
Getty Images reported its second quarter 2026 financial results, showing a revenue decrease of 2.5% year-over-year to $229.1 million. The company recorded a net loss of $85.8 million for the quarter, compared to a net loss of $34.4 million in the same period last year.
CEO Craig Peters noted that while the company faced pressure in its Agency and iStock e-commerce segments, its enterprise-serving business showed resilience. Editorial revenue grew by 9.2%, and annual subscription revenue increased to represent 58.8% of total revenue. However, the company faced significant headwinds, including a $110.9 million warrant-litigation payment and a total debt of $2.1 billion.
Following the termination of a proposed merger with Shutterstock, Getty Images has hired Guggenheim Securities to evaluate financing and balance-sheet alternatives. The company has also withdrawn its financial guidance as it conducts a review of its capital structure. Moving forward, management plans to refocus iStock on premium offerings and expand AI-related tools and partnerships.
