Getty Museum brings large-scale art reproductions to Paris facades

The Getty Museum is installing large-scale reproductions of famous masterpieces on various building facades across Paris. This citywide project, running from October 1 to November 30, is a partnership between the Getty and the cultural management agency L’Art dans la Ville.

The initiative commemorates the 250th anniversary of Franco-American friendship. Six monumental artworks will be available for free viewing 24 hours a day at various locations, including the Gare de l’Est, Hôtel de Ville, and the Louvre area. Featured works include Vincent van Gogh’s ‘Irises’ and ‘Portrait of Joseph Roulin’, Édouard Manet’s ‘Jeanne’, Paul Cézanne’s ‘Still Life with Apples’, Gustave Caillebotte’s ‘Young Man at His Window’, and Lawrence Alma-Tadema’s ‘Spring’.

Getty President and CEO Katherine Fleming stated that the project reflects the museum’s commitment to sharing art beyond its walls and building global partnerships.
