Geyse Ferreira named Liga MX Femenil Player of the Month

Brazilian forward Geyse Ferreira has been named Player of the Month in Liga MX Femenil for her performance during the Apertura 2026 tournament. Currently playing for Club América, Ferreira has recorded 16 goals and has been a consistent starter, appearing in 10 matches.

In addition to her individual success, Ferreira and teammate Priscila Da Silva have highlighted the strengths of the Mexican women's league while representing the Brazilian national team. During a press conference ahead of matches against Argentina, the players noted that Liga MX Femenil excels in media coverage and the prioritization of playing in stadiums to attract public attendance. They suggested that these aspects, particularly the ability to play in large venues with consistent fan support, are areas where the Brazilian women's championship could improve to better support the sport.
