Ghana advances port digitalisation and petroleum hub development

Ghana is pursuing significant infrastructure and technological advancements through new maritime and energy initiatives. Deputy Minister for Transport Dorcas Affo-Toffey held discussions with Ceris Technologies regarding the modernisation of Ghana’s ports. The talks focused on using technology to streamline port activities, strengthen cybersecurity, and build resilient maritime infrastructure to support the country’s goal of becoming a competitive maritime hub in West Africa.

In the energy sector, a Phase II agreement has been signed for Ghana’s US$28 billion Petroleum Hub Project. The agreement, between the Petroleum Hub Development Corporation (PHDC) and an international consortium led by Global Sphere, aims to develop Lot Two of the national project via a Build-Operate partnership. The project is intended to drive economic growth, create jobs, and expand industrial activity within the global petroleum and energy industry.
