Ghana U-17 Women's team draws 3-3 with Brazil in World Cup thriller

Ghana’s U-17 women’s national team, the Black Maidens, secured a 3-3 draw against Brazil in their second Group C match at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. After an opening 3-0 loss to Norway, Ghana showed significant resilience to earn their first point of the tournament.

Brazil took an early lead through Nicolly in the seventh minute, but Ghana responded with goals from Rafia Osman and Gloria Ameaa to take a 2-1 lead. Brazil’s Kaillany Ranifah equalized just before halftime, and Indy restored Brazil's lead in the second half. Priscilla Mensah scored an 85th-minute equalizer to finalize the score.

Despite the comeback, Ghana remains at the bottom of Group C. The team must defeat Canada in their final group fixture to maintain their chances of advancing to the knockout stages. Coach Nana Adarkwah praised the team's performance, noting that while they missed several opportunities, the players are showing growth against top-tier opposition.
