Ghana Armed Forces denies probe into former CDS

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially denied reports claiming that former Chief of the Defence Staff, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, is under investigation for various infractions.

In a statement released on Friday, August 21, the GAF Department of Public Relations characterized the allegations as “malicious” and “groundless.” The military emphasized that no such probe is being conducted. General Oppong-Peprah, who previously served as the nation's Chief of the Defence Staff, currently holds the diplomatic position of Deputy High Commissioner to Canada.

The statement, signed by Acting Director General of Public Relations Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, urged the public to disregard the reports and refrain from spreading misinformation, advising citizens to rely on official military channels for accurate information.
