Ghana Comedy Awards 2026 crowns Aka Ebenezer and Joy FM’s Weekend City Show

The Ghana Comedy Awards 2026 ceremony was held on 1 August 2026 at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Ridge, Accra. Aka Ebenezer emerged as the biggest winner, taking home both the Comedian of the Year and Comic Actor of the Year trophies. Other top honours went to Clemento Suarez (Comedy Theatre Act of the Year and Comic MC/Orator of the Year), Lekzy Decomic (Stand‑up Comedian of the Year), Shatta Wale (Alternative Comedy Act of the Year) and Sabinus (African Comedian of the Year).

Joy FM’s Saturday morning programme, Weekend City Show, was named Comic Radio Show of the Year. Host Kofi Hayford accepted the award plaque alongside regular contributor Rubbin Adarkwa, thanking listeners and the station’s production team for the recognition.
