Ghana Enterprises Agency expands support for entrepreneurs

The Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) is expanding its support for entrepreneurs through new initiatives aimed at business formalisation and resource distribution.

At a graduation ceremony for the International Certificate in Impact Entrepreneurship (ICIE) in Accra, Deputy CEO Prince Iddrisu Mahmoud pledged post-graduation assistance. This support includes connecting graduates to Business Advisory and Business Support (BBS) services, helping with business formalisation, market access, and product certification to ensure products meet the standards required for larger markets like the Ghana Mall.

Additionally, GEA CEO Margaret Ansei led the distribution of start-up kits to 180 beneficiaries in Yendi under the BizBox Project. This four-year initiative, implemented in partnership with the MasterCard Foundation, provides entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and equipment to young people, women, and persons with disabilities. The kits distributed in the Northern Region focus on cereal processing, livestock production, and craft-based enterprises to promote sustainable jobs and food security.
