Ghana Football Association issues sanctions and faces criticism

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended Bibiani Gold Stars CEO Kwasi Adu for three matches and imposed a GHS 10,000 fine. The disciplinary action follows a 2-1 defeat against Hearts of Oak in September, during which Adu was found guilty of entering the inner perimeter without authorization, verbally assaulting match officials, and making comments that brought the game into disrepute.

Separately, the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has condemned remarks made by Aduana FC General Manager Takyi Arhin regarding former Black Stars captain André Ayew. Arhin suggested Ayew should focus on local business ventures, such as goat farming, rather than pursuing a GFA presidency. The PFAG described these comments as “unacceptable and disparaging,” noting that regional stereotypes have no place in Ghanaian football.
