Ghana Gender Ministry prepares nationwide LEAP monitoring exercise
The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has organized a preparatory meeting for officers ahead of a two-week nationwide monitoring exercise. The initiative aims to assess and monitor the first and second cycles of the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) cash grant payments to beneficiaries across the country.
During the meeting, officers were trained on a revised monitoring questionnaire and instructed on managing case-management issues. Key focus areas include beneficiary reassessment and enrollment, payment systems, beneficiary quotas, data quality, payment instruments, and grievance handling.
Special attention is being directed toward resolving payment-card and data-related challenges, such as name mismatches, incorrect beneficiary records, and inconsistencies in payment information. Officers have been advised to provide accurate information to beneficiaries and utilize established case-management and Single Window structures to resolve identified issues.
