Ghana Gender Ministry reviews 2026 performance and sets 2027 priorities

The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has concluded a four-day workshop focused on its 2026 mid-year performance review and strategic planning for 2027. The session involved management, regional directors, and advisory board members to assess progress, identify implementation gaps, and establish budget priorities.

Key challenges identified during the review included human resource capacity, financing for service delivery, procurement, and various operational issues. Participants worked to identify ways to simplify, digitalize, or redesign existing processes to improve efficiency and coordination across the Ministry’s departments and agencies.

Minister Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey emphasized that the Ministry’s success should be measured by the tangible impact on vulnerable groups and families. She stressed that policy commitments regarding gender equality, child protection, and social welfare must be translated into concrete actions and measurable results through strengthened systems and partnerships.
