Ghana Gold Board becomes center of NDC and NPP political tension

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has become a focal point of political tension between the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Social commentator Kevin Taylor has issued a warning to Sammy Gyamfi, alleging that certain NDC members are collaborating with the NPP to secure Gyamfi’s position as CEO of GoldBod. Taylor claimed that individuals close to Gyamfi are reportedly sharing information with the opposition to facilitate his removal.

Separately, NDC communicator Hamza Suhuyini emphasized the institution's importance to the government's economic narrative. Suhuyini stated that GoldBod is the bedrock of the NDC’s economic performance and argued that the party must defend the agency, as it is central to their claim of achieving unprecedented economic success since Ghana's independence.
