Ghana government exceeds Treasury bill target by 73%

The government of Ghana has exceeded its Treasury bill auction target by 73%, securing GH¢9.4 billion in funding from GH¢10.7 billion in total bids. Data from the Bank of Ghana indicates strong investor demand, particularly for longer-term securities.

The 364-day bill was the most subscribed, accounting for 55.8% of total bids with GH¢5.8 billion accepted. The yield on this one-year bill rose by 2.0 basis points to 12.98%, approaching the 13% mark.

In contrast, shorter-term yields saw a decline. The 91-day bill yield dropped by 14 basis points to 5.62%, while the 182-day bill yield fell from 7.64% to 7.52%.
