Ghana High Commissioner commends United Nigeria Airlines

Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria and Permanent Representative to ECOWAS, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, has commended United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) for its operational efficiency on the Accra–Abuja–Accra route.

During a courtesy visit to the Ghana High Commission in Abuja, a UNA delegation led by Director of Administration Linus Awute met with the envoy. The meeting held particular significance as Abu’s inaugural flight into Nigeria to begin his diplomatic duties was operated by United Nigeria Airlines.

Awute, representing Executive Chairman Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, emphasized the airline’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between Ghana and Nigeria. He noted that the significant number of Ghanaian nationals within the airline’s workforce reflects the strong people-to-people connections between the two nations.

In response, High Commissioner Abu expressed interest in forging a deeper working relationship with the carrier. He proposed potential partnerships, including support for Ghana’s upcoming 70th Independence Anniversary in 2027 and the development of tailored corporate travel packages for High Commission staff.
