Ghana highway collision kills two people
Two people died following a collision between a Hyundai H100 minibus and a Ford tractor on the Accra-Aflao Highway. The accident occurred on the Kpetoe-Sarakope stretch of the road while both vehicles were traveling from Kpetoe toward Aflao.
Firefighters from the Kpetoe Fire Station successfully rescued all 14 individuals trapped in the wreckage. The survivors were transported by the National Ambulance Service to the Ho Teaching Hospital. Despite medical efforts, one male and one female victim were pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Ghana Police Service has initiated an investigation into the incident. The Volta Regional Fire Service has urged motorists to exercise greater discipline, citing reckless overtaking and speeding as primary causes of highway accidents on this busy international corridor.
