Ghana Investment Promotion Authority announces Invest Ghana Summit 2026
The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) has announced the inaugural Invest Ghana Summit, scheduled for November 16–17, 2026, in Accra. The event aims to host over 2,000 investors, policymakers, and business leaders to showcase national investment opportunities, including reforms related to the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and the government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda.
GIPA CEO Simon Madjie stated the summit is designed to connect investors with viable projects and facilitate direct engagement between Ghanaian businesses and technical partners or financiers. The summit will be followed by the 22nd Ghana Club 100 Awards on November 18, 2026, to honor top-performing companies in the country.
Separately, Madjie addressed challenges regarding foreign participation in Ghana’s informal retail sector, which is legally reserved for Ghanaian citizens. He proposed that government-backed model markets could serve as a solution to improve regulation and enforcement. These facilities would allow authorities to better oversee commercial spaces and ensure that foreign entities do not bypass restrictions on informal trading.
