Ghana Investment Promotion Authority launches $383 m roadshow to boost agribusiness in Bono, Bono East and Ahafo

The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) is conducting a five‑day regional investment roadshow from 27 to 31 July 2026 in Sunyani, Techiman and Goaso, covering the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions. The initiative, part of GIPA’s Investment Opportunity Mapping Project, aims to turn local agribusiness, logistics, eco‑tourism and manufacturing potential into bankable projects. To date the three regions have attracted about US$383.65 million in foreign direct investment, with Bono East leading at US$266.9 million across 15 projects. Investors from India, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, China, Lebanon and Australia are active in the corridor.

GIPA also called for major infrastructure upgrades to reduce post‑harvest losses, noting that cashew apples are rotting on farms because of insufficient processing facilities and transport bottlenecks. Deputy CEO Abdul Razack Baba announced lower lending rates from the Bank of Ghana and the Ministry of Finance, urged landowners to register their land and link it to investors, and highlighted interest in joint‑venture agro‑processing. Bono Regional Minister Joseph Akwaboa stressed the region’s favourable climate, fertile land, peace, workforce and traditional institutions as assets for investors. The roadshow includes pitch sessions and technical guidance to build a verified pipeline of investment‑ready projects.
