Ghana Investment Promotion Authority launches northern roadshow

The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) has launched a strategic roadshow across Northern Ghana to connect investors with identified projects ahead of the maiden Invest Ghana Summit in November 2026. The roadshow, running from October 11 to 23, 2026, focuses on the Northern, North-East, Upper East, Upper West, and Savanna regions.

Through its Investment Opportunities Mapping Project, GIPA has identified over 600 investment-ready projects nationwide. Of these, 128 are located in the northern regions, with the Upper West region holding the highest number at 45 projects. Opportunities include agriculture, manufacturing, mining, renewable energy, and tourism. Data from 1994 to June 2026 shows these northern regions have already attracted 100 registered projects with an estimated foreign direct investment value of US$1 billion.

The upcoming Invest Ghana Summit aims to drive industrialisation and value addition, aligning with the government’s agenda to shift from raw material exports toward a more productive, globally competitive economy. The initiative seeks to foster partnerships between the state and the private sector to create jobs and strengthen local supply chains.
