Ghana Journalists Association receives 47 entries for Upper East awards

The Upper East Regional Branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has announced that 47 entries from 24 journalists have been submitted for the 5th Upper East Regional GJA Awards. This represents an increase from the previous edition, which saw 42 entries from 18 journalists.

The submitted works will undergo a rigorous vetting process by an independent committee, which is scheduled to be unveiled on September 4, 2026. The awards ceremony is set to take place on October 2, 2026.

This year’s theme is ‘Beyond the Headlines: The Media’s Role in Promoting WASH for Safe Motherhood and Quality Healthcare.’ The awards aim to recognize journalists whose reportage contributes to accountability, development, and public discourse within the Upper East Region and Ghana.
