Ghana Lands Ministry denies Minister's GoldBod resignation

The Ghana Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources has dismissed reports claiming that Minister Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah resigned from the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) due to disagreements. Officials stated that the reports circulating on social media are false and that the relationship between the Ministry and GoldBod remains “perfectly strong.”

The Ministry explained that the change in representation was a purely administrative decision. Due to a demanding schedule and responsibilities across two ministries, Mr. Armah-Kofi Buah nominated the Ministry’s Chief Director, Marcus Haligah, to represent him on the GoldBod Board. This arrangement is consistent with GoldBod’s governance framework, which allows for designated representatives to serve on the Board.

Spokesperson Paa Kwesi Schandorf and the Ministry's communications directorate both emphasized that the decision was not linked to any conflict, dissatisfaction, or institutional disagreement.
