Ghana Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Incest and Threats
A Ghanaian court sentenced 47‑year‑old Kwame Ti‑Zaaekuu to 20 years in prison for incest and an additional 10 years for threatening his 17‑year‑old daughter, with both terms to run concurrently in hard labour. The conviction followed a police investigation by the Upper West Regional Police Command and prosecution in the Lawra Circuit Court, which also ordered support services for the survivor.
Separately, an anonymous caller on Asempa FM’s Bibiaa Bibiaa programme confessed to a sexual relationship with his daughter, expressing remorse and seeking forgiveness. He described a long‑standing compulsive sexual behaviour and acknowledged the moral and emotional damage caused. Both incidents underscore ongoing concerns about sexual and gender‑based violence in Ghana.
